QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
If your question isn't here, you can send me a message in the section below.
1. How do I know if therapy is for me?
If you're reading this, you probably already feel that something could be different. Therapy isn't just for crises; it's for anyone who wants to understand themselves better, deal more healthily with what life brings, or simply have a safe space to think.
2. Are the sessions online or in person?
I offer both. Online sessions take place via secure video call, with the same quality and confidentiality as in-person sessions. You can choose what works best for your schedule. In-person sessions take place in Funchal and can also be scheduled through the provided link.
3. How often should I have sessions?
In most cases, we start with weekly sessions; this is the pace that allows for greater continuity and progress. Over time, it may make sense to space them out to bi-weekly. We decide together depending on your progress.
4. How long does therapy last?
It depends on what you bring to the process and what you want to work on. Some processes are more focused and last a few months; others are deeper and can extend for longer. What matters is that the pace is yours.
5. Is the free call truly without obligation?
Yes. The 15-minute call is there so you can feel comfortable exploring whether it makes sense for us to work together, without pressure, without any obligation to continue.
6. Is what is discussed in the sessions confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a fundamental ethical principle of psychological practice. What you share in sessions remains between us, with very specific exceptions provided for by law (situations of immediate risk to your safety or that of third parties).
